Year 5 recently enjoyed an exciting and inspiring taster day at Sir Thomas Boteler High School. The visit gave pupils a fantastic opportunity to experience a day in the life of a secondary school student and explore what lies ahead in their educational journey.
The day began with a lively and uplifting assembly, complete with live singers, which created a brilliant atmosphere and set the tone for the rest of the visit. Pupils then took part in a series of engaging lessons in Music, English, and Maths. Their enthusiasm and positive attitude shone through, with several children impressing the teachers so much that they were awarded special ‘well done’ cards in recognition of their efforts.
During the lunch break, the children had the chance to explore the sports hall and enjoy the equipment on offer, adding a fun and active element to the day. After lunch, they were taken on a guided tour of the school by the student ambassadors, who shared their experiences and answered questions, helping to make the younger pupils feel welcome and excited about the future.
The taster day was a valuable and enjoyable experience for all involved, and we’re incredibly proud of how confidently and respectfully our Year 5 pupils represented our school.
