Online Safety

The safety and well-being of our children is our top priorities. In today's digital age, it's crucial that we equip our students with the knowledge and skills to navigate the online world safely. We understand the incredible opportunities and benefits that technology can offer, but we also recognize the potential risks that come with it. That's why we are fully committed to ensuring that children can harness the power of technology while staying safe and secure online.

Education and Awareness

• As part of our Computing and PSHE curriculums, children are educated about online safety from an early age. We believe in empowering our students with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions online.
• Each class has its own set of e-Safety rules, which are co-created by the children themselves. These rules are prominently displayed and revisited regularly to ensure they remain fresh in the minds of all.
• We work closely with external agencies, including the NSPCC and local law enforcement, to provide comprehensive online safety education. Our partnership with the local Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) ensures that our students receive the latest guidance and support in navigating the online world safely.

Practical Training

• In Key Stage 2, children have the opportunity to attend  Safety Central visits, where they delve deeper into the intricacies of online safety. These visits provide hands-on experiences and practical knowledge that complement what they learn in the classroom.
• Regular key stage assemblies are held to address emerging issues and reinforce positive online behavior. Through these assemblies, we aim to instill a sense of responsibility and digital citizenship in our children.
• Our staff members receive training from the CEOP team within the local Police, enabling them to provide valuable support and guidance to children and families on online safety matters.

Student Leadership

• We believe in empowering our children to take on leadership roles in promoting online safety. Our Digital Leader Team are passionate about digital citizenship and are dedicated to supporting their peers.
• Digital leaders meet regularly to discuss common issues and trends they encounter online. They serve as ambassadors for online safety within our school community and actively engage in initiatives such as parent surveys and leaflet distributions during events like parents' evenings.

Community Engagement

• We actively participate in events such as Internet Safety Day and enter competitions to raise awareness and promote online safety both within our school and the wider community. We once won the Primary School Award, with Cheshire Constabulary, for our radio rap.  Our gold disc is proudly displayed in our entrance hall. Have a listen below!
